Francis Atterbury

Francis Atterbury will be speaking at the 2008 Plus International Design Festival. Francis came to printing through an inability to pass exams and get a proper job, but was fortunate to be raised in a family with type in its blood. It was the early 1970s and letterpress was giving way to offset lithography, metal type was being usurped by phototypesetting: it was a time when old-fashioned standards were mixed with an appreciation for new technologies. He has maintained this combination throughout his career both in UK, US and Europe and now as Fine Art Consultant to the likes of Gilbert & George
